Landowners

Momentum strives to be a good neighbor and steward of the lands in which our operations are carried out. Momentum has a track record of developing high-quality oil and natural gas projects, working in partnership with energy producers, communities, and landowners to plan and construct its pipelines and facilities to the highest standards.

At the heart of all of Momentum’s operations is a commitment to safety and the environment, reflected in the long list of safety awards the company has earned from professional organizations within the industry.

Pipeline Marker

This commitment starts with its right-of-way agents, who work with landowners on agreements to place gathering lines on their property that avoid environmentally sensitive areas and minimize the impact to the property. It continues by adhering to the stringent best management practices in the design of pipelines and facilities, and continues with the regular inspection and maintenance of those pipelines and rights-of-way, the safe operation of all facilities and an open line of communication with property owners.

We will conduct all of our operations in an environmentally conscientious manner and are fully committed to preserving the quality of air, rivers, streams and lands in the communities where we operate.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • 811 - Know what's below. Call before you dig. What purpose will M3 Midstream’s gathering systems serve?
Momentum's pipeline systems gather natural gas from well locations through underground lines to major interstate transmission pipelines. Our systems safely move the gas closer to the homes and businesses that rely on this energy source.
  • How deep must this pipeline be placed in the ground, and how will M3 cross streams and other natural features?
Pipeline used for midstream operations is typically buried with a minimum cover over the pipeline of 36 inches. Momentum can bury the pipe as deep as 60 inches below ground surface to ensure the safety of its gathering lines. Pipelines are typically buried beneath waterways and highways using boring equipment that drills horizontally beneath a stream bed, followed by the placement of the pipeline
  • If a pipeline is located on my property, will there be any permanent damage or would it limit use of my property?
Momentum takes every precaution to minimize impacts to property during the construction process and restores the right-of-way with native vegetation and original contour following construction. Property owners can use their land along the right-of-way.
  • How does M3 Midstream maintain the pipeline right-of-way?
Momentum monitors and maintains its rights-of-way on an ongoing basis. Safety markers are placed to mark the pipeling location and are placed to ensure the markers are identifiable anywhere along the right of way. These markers contain safety warnings and the company's contact information. Land-based surveys of the pipeline take place regularly, and mowing occurs as-needed to avoid overgrowth of vegetation. Momentum has personnel on call 24 hours a day to respond to any potential incidents at its pipeline and compressor facilities.
